On The Rocks

Sorry walledlifers, I know it's been a while since my last blog. Terry has kept us pretty busy on the farm. We just butchered 31 chickens over the course of two afternoons. It took a bit more time than we had hoped. We are stocked up on chicken for some time now.

More importantly though, (or at least more enjoyable) we went on vacation down to the Colorado Plateau country of Utah and Northern Arizona.

We not only explored the National and State Parks, but we visited family and friends also. It was great to see the kids and grandkids!

Some of the best exploring was on the backroads away from the crowds.

There was still some beautiful country and views, not to mention wildlife, foliage and beautiful rocks. When I was a kid, I was told that a person is given a quota of marbles when they’re born. Every time you find a pretty rock you trade a marble for it. When you’ve lost all your marbles… your a rockhound. Terry is definitely a rockhound then! We brought back a lot of pretty rocks!

On the way down we stopped at the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge at the North end of the Great Salt Lake. That’s the second time and it is a birder’s paradise.
